Camelot Care Centers (also known as “Camelot”) has been serving children and adolescents in foster care since 1972, in hopes of reuniting them with their family or finding their “forever home.” As an accredited Child Welfare Agency licensed by the state of Illinois, we offer a broad range of comprehensive youth and family services to help create healthy and appropriate environments of care in the least restrictive way possible. Read on to learn more about how Camelot helps kids in foster care — and how you can help, too!

We offer a higher level of foster care.

Camelot Care Centers believe that all children deserve the chance to grow up safe and protected from abuse and neglect. For that reason, we specialize in a higher level of foster care for children who need extra support, including those with developmental delays or those stepping down from residential treatment. We partner with our foster parents to provide trauma-informed care and additional services, including in-home counseling, tele-psychiatry and therapeutic mentoring. Our training and support to foster parents is valuable when helping a child who has experienced such challenges, pain and upheaval.

We can help you become a licensed foster parent.

Our most successful foster parents are open-minded, dependable, patient, and loving. They are also willing to try different techniques to match the individual needs of the child in foster care. If you are ready to open your heart and home to a child in need, Camelot can help you become a licensed foster parent in the state of Illinois. We stand alongside our foster parents to ensure they have the resources and support they need to care for the children placed in their homes.

Our Extended Family Support program creates stability.

In some circumstances, a relative has been caring for the child when the biological parents have been unable to. Our Extended Family Support program helps stabilize the relative’s home to avoid putting the child into the welfare system. Services include helping the child to enroll in the local school district, help the relative obtain guardianship, and assisting with financial and housing issues through grants and subsidies.

These are just a few of the many ways Camelot is helping kids in foster care. If you want to learn more about how to become a foster parent, contact Camelot Care Centers today.
